A drive to the beach

Engrossed in thoughts,driving away

at a 100 speed on the highway

mulling over broken dreams

silencing in her head shouts and screams

a soul mate old

who had turned cold

for reasons to her not known

all she knew ,she was alone

her dreams shattered

of things that mattered

of good things not yet born

the car their blew its horn

steering wheels tightly white knuckles braced

brought her back from the haze

put her focus back on the road

but her heart unable to shrug the load

again mind wandering off in thoughts deep

did what she sow was what she reap

drowned in a sea of guilt

brooding over the life she built

till finally her eyes spotted blue

did what they say was true?

Her car on the edge she stop

in the shady parking lot

she picked her battered soul up

she a sadness filled in a cup

on cool white sands she walked

the beautiful breeze to her soul talked

her eyes rolled over the wide blue expanse

the cool shimmering waters held her in a trance

till she felt her miseries drowning

suddenly her brows ceased its frowning

lips smiled yet tears rolled

it was true what they told

the ocean did the soul heal

with a kiss would she seal

Picked her up from the fall

Life was not so bad after all!

Foreword:Today we all are a part of the world soaking in stress from every corner.Sometimes we are not even aware how it might be affecting us.Stress can have so many adverse effects on our bodily systems .It slows down our productivity as well.Although we may try to eliminate the source of our stress ,it is not a feasible idea everytime. This is when we start looking elsewhere.Being a religious person I believe trust in your creator is a great stress reliever.Apart from that what better way than to turn towards nature and as for the sea it heals your soul.Just take a drive down to the beach right now and you have to agree.

Very beautiful and very well said. The feeling you described of walking along the beach is so very accurate. I feel the same. Somehow the weight gets lifted off your shoulder. As if the waves would wash away all that bothered you… and the smile on your face returns.

    1. thanks for complimenting …although the accuracy of expression could be simply attributed to the fact that it was written a day after a visit to the beach..and no matter what the source of stress in our life, like you said the sea simply heals the soul! 🙂

  4. I like this. It started out and I held my breath hoping she won’t hurt herself instead she found some healing and respite. We need timeouts to destress now and again.

I would like to invite you to my blog party which just started. Link is titled ‘it’s party time come right in.”
